"I would like to thank..."

(please click on the title to be taken to the full post with photo) The following is a speech that was delivered by an athlete at the end-of-season banquet held by South Saugeen on April 17. The event was a great way to celebrate the season, as well as recognize volunteers for their contributions to the programs.

"Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to tell you that I have been a member of the South Saugeen Dolphins swim team for Special Olympics for the past two years.

It has been a great experience for me as I like being a part of a team that encourages you with every race you participate in by cheering you on and high fiving you when it is over.

We all try our best and feel really great when we finish a race. Of course, it is just the best when you get a ribbon.

On behalf of the Dolphins team, I would like to thank all our coaches, families and friends for all their support.

I am looking forward to next year!"
